President-elect Trump nominated Republican House Reps Elise Stefanik, Michael Waltz and Matt Gaetz to his administration. In doing so, he has put the Republican House majority at risk of being replaced with a one-seat Democratic majority.
The Republicans currently have a 4 seat advantage in the House of Representatives. The Republicans have 2019 seats, and the Democrats have 2015 seats. If the Democrats win three special elections, the Democrats will gain 3 seats, and the Republicans will lose 2 seats. The count would then be Democrats 2018 seats and Republicans 2017 seats. The Democrats will have a one-seat majority.
However, if Republican House Reps Elise Stefanik and Michael Waltz withdraw from the nomination process—or Trump withdraws these two nominations—two of the special elections will not happen. Republicans would then be guaranteed to keep their House majority.
Please call Rep Michael Waltz’s office at (202) 225-2706 and Rep Elise Stefanik’s office at (202) 225-4611. Ask them to withdraw from a nomination process to protect the House majority. If they withdraw, there will only be one special election; and a republican majority will be guaranteed in the House of Representatives.

Let me explain: when House seats become vacant, they have to be filled with special elections. Many states allow senators to be replaced by appointment, but they are then replaced by election as well. House vacancies cannot be filled by appointment.
Former Representative Matt Gaetz resigned, and did not take the oath of office for the seat he won this past election. His seat is vacant and will be filled in a special election. He also was accused of sexual misconduct.
Republican Rep Elise Stefanik, from New York, has been nominated for Ambassador to the United Nations. Republican Representative Michael Waltz, from Florida, has been nominated to the position of National Security Advisor. I believe both of them would do great in Trump’s administration. However, I believe both of them should withdraw from the nomination process because they will have to be replaced by a special election. Again, if the Democrats win all three special elections, they gain a one-seat majority in the House. This is too great a risk to take for two nominations. Others are qualified.
I called Representative Michael Waltz’s office; and was told that Michael Waltz won his seat by 10 points last election.
I have been told by someone in the know that the Republicans are aware of the situation; and believe that these are safe districts that the nominees are coming from.
This reminds me of when Donald Trump nominated Senator Jeff Sessions from Alabama to his first administration. It would have been considered safe that he could be replaced by another Republican.
Republican Roy Moore ran for Jeff Sessions seat against Democrat Doug Jones. There was a sexual misconduct allegation against Roy Moore. Roy Moore was outspent by 400% and lost by double digits. When the seat came up for re-election, Tommy Tubberville ran and defeated then Senator Doug Jones by double digits. This is at least a 20-point swing between elections in a Republican state.
In these potential upcoming 3 “safe” special House elections, there might be allegations of sexual misconduct against all three Republican nominees. If they happen, expect them after they get the nomination.
Former Representative Matt Gaetz’s seat, Representative Mike Waltz’s seat, and Elise Stefanik’s seat might be safe in fair elections. However, Democrats do not always play fair.
In addition to possible accusations of misconduct, the Democrats will be able to fundraise on the platform that the control of the House is on the line. Democrats will massively out-fundraise the Republicans. I expect that George Soros will give $10 million to each candidate running on the Democratic side in the hopes of stopping Trump’s agenda by getting a Democratic House majority. Why would the Democrats waste another bite at the apple to get the House majority just given to them by the Republicans?
The Republicans may win all three seats, but at the cost of how much money? Why not just not have two of the special elections?
